Take note, our mantra for all working women out there is to dress so they notice you and work so they'll remember you. However, five days out of the week, every woman asks herself, “What should I wear to work?” If the tired question sounds familiar, you’re not alone.
Unless you’re a bonafide superwoman, you’ve probably experienced your fair share of what we call the morning scramble. You know, those days when no matter what you do, you can’t seem to pull it together and get ready in an even remotely reasonable amount of time. After all, it’s not easy putting together outfits that are subtle enough for a professional environment, yet stylish enough to stand out and make a positive impression - even after working hours.
For days like these, I always opt for the throw-on-and-go dress. All this one-hit-wonder needs is a pair of shoes and a necklace, and you're out the door quicker than Speedy Gonzales. You might even have time to down that bowl of cereal and make that glorious coffee pitstop before clocking in.
Moreover, dressing the part for work is a topic I am quite familiar with and thank God for dresses from Pink Manila that cover the basics for all kinds of work attire (from casual to business casual to professional).
But before going to the deets, we have to ensure that we will never be again late for work on account of wardrobe indecision. How to do this?  Pick out your entire outfit the night before. There’s a reason why our moms taught us this trick when we were younger—it’s only logical and it saves a ton of time. Before you go to bed, choose your entire outfit for the next day, right down to your shoes, bag, and other accessories. If you wake up feeling like you don’t really want to wear what you picked out, you can edit from there—but that’s still a preferable option to trying to create a look from scratch by frantically rifling through your entire closet.
In editing your office outfit of the day (OOOTD),  I believe every working girl should know to invest in a good pair of shoes. Your shoes may not be the first thing your co-workers will notice, but if you’re crossing your legs in a meeting or making a presentation, I guarantee that scuffed soles will stand out…and not in a good way. Invest in two or three classic pairs of heels that are comfortable enough to give an entire standing presentation in. Do the same with flats.

If you feel like your outfit needs to step up a notch or two, just don't over-accessorize.We’re all familiar with that famous Coco Chanel quote: always remove one accessory before you leave the house. But I think I even have a better tactic: don’t put on too many to begin with! Haha! When it comes to accessories, simpler really IS better. Unless you’re trying to make a statement with an attention-grabbing necklace or pair of earrings, stick to minimal pieces that won’t weigh down your outfit—or slow down your morning.

Looking put-together and work-appropriate by 8 am is SO MUCH easier said than done. If you've ever found yourself dashing from work to meetings to after-work drinks (case in point: my life), you'll know how hard it is just getting there on time. It's another challenge altogether making a workday look work for after-hours.  If you're willing to invest in a few versatile pieces, you might just be able to make your look last right through to happy hour. Whatever your profession, whatever your position, it won't hurt to balance a feminine dress with a pair of lace-up heels. Just like what I preferred to do. Instant sophistication right there. Aside from the fact that it's a perennnially classic outfit combo, it's effortless. You'll simply take your work-day style up a notch in formality when downing that amaretto sour or frozen margarita.
